Every mid-December and mid-May, students from many Black Box programs- and special guests- perform short scenes and songs for family, friends, and the community.
On Sunday May 20th at 7:30 PM at The Jewish Center of Teaneck, numerous performing arts students from all over Bergen County and beyond will convene to support one another and share their talents in Black Box Studios’ Annual Spring Talent Showcase. Our previous Talent Showcases (Winter and Spring) each featured over 40 performers from numerous groups and attracted around 200 spectators.
Below is from our 2011 Spring Showcase!
Kids, teens, and adults currently enrolled in theater workshops, drama clubs, and classes taught by Matt Okin, Giselle D’Souza, Danny Hoffman, Mea Moon, Jesse Freedman, and Rebecca Lopkin- at the Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies, The Moriah School, Yeshivat Noam, J-ADD, NSHA Middle School, SSDS Bergen, TABC High, HANC High, HANC Middle, PJILL, Black Box Studios at The Jewish Center of Teaneck and more- will perform short scenes and songs from their current (or recent) classwork throughout the evening.
Fans, friends, and families are invited, as well as the general public. Industry professionals- who manage, represent, and cast kids and adults in professional entertainment- will also be asked to stop by as our guests.
Doors will open for the audience at 7:15 and admission (online below or at the door) will be a $5.00 donation per person, which is used to defray the costs of the production. Groups of performers will appear once throughout the evening, which will run until approximately 9:15 PM. Students in Starting Out On Stage and Continuing on Stage will appear towards the beginning of the showcase.
- Audience: Donate the $5 admission here and bring the receipt to the Showcase or donate by cash or check at the door.
