Black Box Studios provides collaborative theater workshops for all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels.

We offer programs at our Teaneck, New Jersey location for adults, teens, and children that run year-round and culminate in fully-staged productions open to family, friends, and the community.

Black Box also teaches classes in private schools and day schools in the Greater New York area, offers private coaching in acting, singing, and musical theater, provides theater therapy programs for children and adults with disabilities, has a popular theater day camp in the summer for kids and teens, and recently unveiled online courses for playwriting and screenwriting.

The experience of our professional instructors covers all disciplines- acting, singing, dancing, music performance and composition, directing, producing, writing, managing, and lighting- and comes from Broadway, off-Broadway, film, concerts, television, and new media. They teach using an improv-based method that Black Box's founders developed during their years working in theater in New York City.

Over 200 students passed through our programs this past season and 2010-11 is shaping up to be even bigger and better.
